ABPath Introduces the Histology Primer<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

February 13, 2024 – The American Board of Pathology (ABPath) announces the launch of its new Histology Primer, an online learning platform exploring the basics of histology. The primer is specifically designed to familiarize pathology residents, medical students, and others interested in learning about the histology of human tissue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

ABPath developed the learning platform with pathology residents in mind as they embark on their training journey, offering a solid foundation in understanding human tissue structures before delving into the many disciplines of Pathology. Additionally, medical students exploring the field of pathology will find this tool particularly helpful in gaining insights into the basics of histology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The primer\u2019s easy-to-navigate learning modules are divided into two content sections, basic tissue components and tissue types by body systems. Each module contains written text or users can opt for mini-lectures with slides. At the end of each module, they can test their knowledge by taking a short quiz with the option to share their scores. The Primer also offers an opportunity for pathology residents to become familiar with using Virtual Microscopy, which is the digital viewing of microscopic images, that is used in board certification exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Histology Primer also contains links to other helpful resources from ABPath Cooperating Societies for those looking to pursue a career in Pathology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
